On October 22, 2024, Kirk Sorensen, Chief Technologist of Flibe Energy, Inc. (FEI) spoke in person at the Nuclear Summit held by Mississippi’s Public Service Commission. He used excerpts from FEI’s thorium fuel cycle video to explain the thorium fuel cycle and FEI’s unique solution to provide clean, abundant, energy to Mississippi. The Commissioners showed particular concern over the environmental impact of nuclear and FEI’s reactors are especially environmentally friendly because they don’t need to be pressurized and fluid fuel can take advantage of passive safety features, like drain tanks.

FEI is excited to continue working with Mississippi and hopes to partner with them to build our early reactors.
