A USA Today article featured Flibe’s recently announced development of the Lithium Fluoride Low Enriched Uranium Reactor (LFLEUR) product line. LFLEUR is a thermal spectrum, fluid-fueled, molten salt reactor designed for scalability, constructability, and repeatability. Unlike other advanced reactor designs that depend on unavailable fuel supply chains, LFLEUR uses today’s commercially available fuel. Furthermore, its liquid fuels are impervious to radiation damage accumulation, enabling pursuit of total fuel utilization and minimal waste production. Its adaptable design allows for configurations ranging from several megawatts to multi-gigawatt grid-scale deployments, representing a significant step towards accelerating sustainable nuclear energy deployment.
